  • MGA Vice Chair of Member Development, 2012

    • January 2012 – Present (1 year 7 months)

    • As the Vice Chair of the IEEE MGA Board, and Chair of the Member Engagement and Life Cycle Committee, lead the worldwide policy making for development of member development programs, as well as leading the efforts of several key global committees including: Student Activities, GOLD, Women in Engineering, and Life Members.

  • MGA Vice Chair of Geo Units, 2010-2011

    • As the Vice Chair of the IEEE MGA Board, and Chair of the Geo Units Operations Committee, in 2010, built a a significant momentum in a communication strategy to Geo Units, cooperation with

    • CLE and vTools committees and coordination with staff in revision of the MGA Ops Manual.

    • In 2011 brought MGA closer to its vision established when it transformed from RAB. In particular, one major deliverable of the 2010 Geographic Units Support Committee was the preliminary communication plan for geo units’ vitality. This preliminary plan was the culmination of a comprehensive survey administered in all ten Regions, as well significant effort on part of volunteers and staff. The current plan is to enter its phase 2 in 2013.

AWARDS: IEEE Region 1 Technical Innovation Award “For Providing Technical Leadership in the Development of State-of-the Art Reconfigurable Wireless Technologies”, 2009; IEEE Long Island Section, Charles Hirsch Award for Noteworthy Contributions to Reconfigurable Wireless Technology, 2008; IEEE Long Island Section, Alex Gruenwald Award, 2002; IEEE Millennium Medal, 2000; IEEE Region 1 Award, 1997.

 

MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS

 

  • Identified success factors from high performing sections based on the creation, administration and analysis of data collected in a survey conducted throughout all ten Regions in 2010, This information is currently being used as a foundation for geo unit vitality recommendations.

  • Developed a new 5 year strategic plan for the MGA Student Activities Committee (SAC) with mission, vision, goals and objectives, providing a smooth transition to the incoming SAC chair. This 2009 strategic plan is in line with the MGA vision and contains specific measurable outcomes.

  • Lead the HKN Working Group B Transition team and in this capacity completed the required tasks within the prescribed time frame. (2009)

  • Coordinated the judging effort of the President’s Change the World Competition with the IEEE Corporate Communication, leading to a stellar winning slate in the IEEE awards ceremony (2009)

  • Coordinated, with Staff, the 2009 transition of ISBIR to MGA SAC operations. This entailed several meetings, telephone conferences and correspondence.

MGA SAC Chair

2008 – 2010 (2 years)

Lead the IEEE committee that manages operations of IEEE student branches, as well as sets policy for IEEE student member activities, benefits and programs worldwide. Major accomplishments include:

1. Developed a new 5 year strategic plan for SAC with mission, vision, goals and obectives, providing a smooth transition to the incoming SAC chair. The new strategic plan is in line with the MGA vision and contains specific measurable outcomes (2009)

2. Lead the HKN Working Group B Transition team. In this capacity completed the required tasks within the prescribed time frame. (2009)

3. Coordinated the judging effort of the President’s Change the World Competition with the IEEE Corporate Communication, leading to a stellar winning slate in the IEEE awards ceremony (2009)

4. Coordinating with the Staff the transition of ISBIR to MGA SAC, operationalizing an initiative that was funded for the first three years through the IEEE New Initiatives fund. operations. This has entailed several meetings, telephone conferences and correspondence. (2009)
